Alison Hessenberg is a self employed artist living and working in Chichester, West Sussex. She has an MA from the University of Chichester 2007, Art Teacher's Certificate 1975, BA (Hons) Degree in Fine Art Ravensbourne College of Art and Design 1974.
She works in various media, most recently oil on canvas or panel, in a series of landscape paintings made in the local area. This has been a return to an interest in painting from life in a direct and immediate response to the subject matter.
She exhibited at the Stowells Trophy Award at the Mall Galleries, London, with favourable reviews and was awarded the Alcan art prize, Banbury, Oxfordshire and was a prize winner at Chichester Open Art.
She has shown at Stride Open Art, Oxmarket, St Richards Hospital, the Otter Gallery, Chichester University, Minerva Theatre, Chichester, Clare College, Cambridge, exhibitions at the Mall Galleries and Seven Dials Gallery, London, Stowe School, Buckingham University, Buckinghamshire and other galleries in south east England.
